Sorry for keeping commenting on your older stuff when the story already has moved on, but I disagree with ~Alighierian and like this kid being as bright as it is. Curious kids have sharper wits, and kids acting more maturely than teens and grown-ups aren't myths either.

Without such a protagonist, the interview with personified Death would've been much less interesting.

little kiddo might be a bit too bright on occasion... might have something to do with the 'straight-face-soup-drinking', its just like polishing your monocle with a straight face, over and over again... only then for kids
